    WATCH SLIDE SHOW

The Blocket Series 2005-2011 shows some of the my over 2 000 pictures collected from the online buy and sell market Blocket. During a six year period I frequently visited this online market. My fascination of Blocket is simple – it’s the largest uncensored window into the homes of al types of persons. During the years I saw trends come and go.  I saw a wast amount of objects being consumed and discarded. I saw happiness and tragedy. By combining the pictures with titles they often got new meanings which then served as comments on contemporary style and political ideals and tendencies.

My years of collecting pictures from Blocket ended in 2011 and was closed by an exhibition “Min gamla hud är nu för stor / My old skin i now too big” at the gallery KRETS.

    Text from the exhibition :
I collect images from the internet. Since 2005 Blocket is category. Blocket is fascinating. One gets an often uncensored glimpse into the Swedish people homes. The pictures tell so much more than what is available for sale. Ever since I started collecting these photos , I have put titles on them. They then often get a new or expanded meaning. Maybe it will be a story about the sender or something about the time when the picture was published. I also think it is interesting to follow how the trends in home decor goes and by visiting Blocket se the them peak ore become out of date. The images together with their titles have also become a way for me to comment on trends and incidents in the society – decor related as well as political . Over the years, I have noticed the technological development  and that the Swedes are getting more and more used to selling things online. To my chagrin, it has also contributed to the findings becoming more rare.
